Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent Mechanical Engineer to join our Advisory team in the UK. You will support the delivery of mechanical building services across multidisciplinary projects, contributing to high-quality designs that meet client, programme and budget requirements.

You will work with experienced engineers and project teams to develop your technical and professional expertise. This role offers exposure to sectors including rail, transportation, defence, justice and education, with

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or HND in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Membership of CIBSE, IMechE or equivalent preferred.
• Understanding of mechanical building services design (HVAC and related systems).
• Experience delivering mechanical building services projects within multidisciplinary design environments.
• Knowledge of design and specification processes and commercial considerations.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of mechanical and building services elements across multidisciplinary projects.
• Prepare and develop designs, calculations, technical reports, drawings and specifications.
• Contribute to successful project delivery meeting quality, cost and programme targets.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers throughout project delivery.
• Assist in technical proposals and bid submissions where required.
• Apply engineering principles to develop practical and compliant design solutions.
• Coordinate design information with other disciplines for integrated delivery.
• Support risk and opportunity management on projects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Contribute to development of junior team members and knowledge sharing.
• Undertake site visits, surveys and inspections as required.
