Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Technician based at Farmoor, Oxford. The role covers inspection, maintenance, fault diagnosis, testing, installation, modification and repair of mechanical and electrical plant with emphasis on safe, efficient operation.

You will support your sites to remain operational, contribute to reducing environmental impact, and participate in standby duties with potential earnings uplift after training.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship with electrical expertise and mechanical upskilling.
• Experience inspecting, maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical plant.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a water/utility environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Investigate and repair plant faults to minimise process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and training to trainees as needed.
• Work on pumps, control gear, motors, VSDs, valves and dosing equipment.
• Participate in standby rota after training.
