Job summary

Tata Steel UK Limited, Trostre packaging site, is seeking a Mechanical Craft to join the Packaging team. You will contribute to safe, reliable production by performing maintenance and fault resolution on mechanical plant equipment.

Ideal candidates hold an HNC in mechanical engineering or a craft/apprenticeship, with strong fault-finding skills, experience in heavy industry, and good IT and communication abilities. Competitive salary and benefits await.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HNC level via craft or modern apprenticeship in mechanical engineering.
• Relevant plant or heavy industrial experience.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Good IT and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults on plant equipment.
• Provide mechanical expertise to improve plant performance and reliability.
• Work in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Support the training of new team members.
• Contribute to improvement activities and technical investigations.
