Job summary

TATA Steel in Corby is recruiting a Mechanical Craft Team Member for a permanent role at their Corby works. The successful candidate will be time-served in Mechanical Engineering with heavy industrial experience and will join a shift-based team.

The position offers a progression path with training and a competitive package, including a 4-week rotating days shift, with a 20% uplift after probation, and a robust benefits scheme.

Qualifications

• Time served Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
• NVQ3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 2+ years in a Heavy Industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist roll stand refurbishment team to keep mill equipment working.
• Assist tooling department with assigned duties.
• Strip down, inspect and rebuild roll stands.
• Work from technical drawings to replace/repair parts, bearings and gears.
• Use induction heaters and presses.
• Assist other teams with moving spares around site.
• Follow strict Health and Safety protocols (SSOW).
• Support improvement initiatives within the department.
