Job summary

Global Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking experienced Service Technician/Site Services Engineers for a client based at British Steel in Teesside, with occasional travel to other sites. The role covers fault finding, electrical and mechanical repairs, and planned maintenance across heavy engineering equipment.

The ideal candidate will be apprentice-trained to at least Level 3 in a mechanical or electro/mechanical discipline, with experience in maintenance or service roles.

Qualifications

• A minimum of Level 3 in mechanical or electro/mechanical discipline.
• Experience in a maintenance/service role.
• Experience on heavy engineering sites is useful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance of automated processing plant in workshop and on site.
• Refurbishment and upgrade of machinery within a fully equipped workshop.
• Work at customer sites or in the workshops as part of an experienced team.
• Fault finding, fault rectification and carrying out electrical and mechanical repairs.
• Handle breakdowns and planned maintenance visits.

Job description

We are currently looking for experienced Service Technician/Site Services Engineers to join one of our clients based at British Steel in Teesside but with a requirement to visit other sites from time to time. This is a permanent position

The client is a market-leading manufacturer of specialist equipment to a range of industry sectors including heavy engineering and aerospace. Due to the specialist nature of the products the work is both interesting and varied and will involve fault finding/fault rectification, carrying out electrical and mechanical repairs, machine maintenance, breakdowns and planned maintenance visits.

• The role will involve working both in the workshop and on site and will involve the following:-
• Planned preventative maintenance of automated processing plant. Refurbishment and upgrade of machinery within a fully equipped workshop environment.
• Working at customer sites or in the workshops as part of an experienced team.

The successful candidates will be apprentice trained and qualified in a mechanical or electro/mechanical discipline to minimum of Level 3. They will ideally have experience of working in a maintenance/service role. Previous experience of working on heavy engineering sites and equipment would be useful but not essential.
