Job summary

Maths Tutor position at E-ACT The Oldham Academy North invites applications from individuals who are passionate about mathematics and helping students succeed. You will deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group tuition across Key Stages 3 and 4, raising attainment and confidence while preparing students for GCSE examinations.

Working with the Mathematics Department, you will monitor progress, adapt support to needs, and support students' independence and resilience within an ambitious academy

Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics or related subject required.
• Experience delivering targeted interventions in education.
• Strong communication to explain concepts clearly to varied abilities.
• Ability to motivate, build confidence and resilience in learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality one-to-one and small-group mathematics tuition for KS3/KS4.
• Plan and deliver targeted intervention sessions to close learning gaps.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Tutor to provide targeted one-to‑one and small-group support for students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a vital role in raising attainment, building confidence, and helping students overcome barriers to learning, particularly in preparation for GCSE examinations.

Working closely with the Mathematics Department, you will deliver high-quality intervention sessions, monitor student progress, and inspire learners to develop resilience and independent learning skills. Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality one-to‑one and small-group mathematics tuition to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Plan and deliver targeted intervention sessions that address gaps in learning and improve attainment.
• Monitor, assess and track student progress, adapting support to meet individual needs.
• Support students preparing for assessments and GCSE examinations, building confidence and resilience.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers and pastoral teams to maximise student success and wellbeing.

Pay range: SCP12-17 - £25,982.89 - ££28,185.21 - FTE: £29,542.00 - £32,046.00 - 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Mathematics (or a related subject) or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of effective mathematics teaching, tutoring and intervention strategies.
• Experience of supporting young people and delivering targeted interventions in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly to students of varying abilities.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students, building confidence, resilience and independent learning skills
