Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Maths Tutor to provide dedicated 1:1 maths support for a Year 8 pupil in the Ilkley area (LS29). The role offers 10 hours per week, with sessions Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm, in-person.

Successful tutors will have or be working towards QTS, a proven ability to raise student performance, and a current DBS (update service).

Qualifications

• QTS is desired but not essential; prior 1:1 tutoring experience is valued.
• Proven track record of improving student performance.
• Team Teach qualification is desirable but not required.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training preferred; training can be provided.
• DBS check with update service or willingness to apply.

Job Title: Maths Tutor (1:1 Support)

Location: LS29

Hours: 10 hours a week. To be held between Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm

Pay Rate: 20 - 30 per hour

Students: Year 8 Student, working below ARE

About the Role:
Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated and experienced Maths tutors to provide 1:1 support to students in the Ilkley area. We work with local authorities and councils to arrange these 1:1 tuitions for students currently accessing alternative provision. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students who may require additional support to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring session in Maths
• Support students in improving academic performance and confidence
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• QTS (desired but not essential) or previous experience working with students on a 1:1 basis
• Proven track record of improving student performance
• Team Teach qualification (highly desirable, but not required)
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (issued within the last year is desirable; training can be provided if needed)
• DBS registered on the update service

To be Eligible for this Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for one
• Provide two professional references covering the last two years
