Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Maths Tutor to provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 student in the Wakefield area. Sessions run 12 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm, in the WF17 locality, with pay between £20-£30 per hour.

The role focuses on delivering tailored maths tutoring, monitoring progress, and adapting techniques to meet individual needs. DBS checks and safeguarding training are encouraged.

Qualifications

• QTS is desirable but not essential.
• Proven track record of improving student performance.
• DBS via online update service or willingness to apply for one.
• Safeguarding training up-to-date within the last year or training can be provided.

About the Role

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated and experienced tutors to provide 1:1 support to students in the Wakefield area. We work with local authorities and councils to arrange these 1:1 tuitions for students currently accessing alternative provision. Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS (desired but not essential) or previous experience working with students on a 1:1 basis
• Proven track record of improving student performance
• Team Teach qualification (highly desirable, but not required)
• Up-to-date safeguarding training (issued within the last year is desirable; training can be provided if needed)
• DBS registered on the online update service

Eligibility Requirements

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for one
• Provide two professional references covering the last two years
