Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated English and Maths tutors to provide 1:1 support to students in the Barnsley area. We work with local authorities and councils to arrange these sessions for students currently accessing alternative provision, offering a rewarding opportunity to help learners reach their full potential.

You will deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback, with sessions between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• QTS is desirable but not essential; experience with 1:1 tutoring preferred.
• Proven track record of improving student performance.
• Safeguarding training desirable; DBS required.

GBP20 - GBP30 per hour

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS (desired but not essential) or previous experience working with students on a 1:1 basis
• Proven track record of improving student performance
• Team Teach qualification (highly desirable, but not required)
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (issued within the last year is desirable; training can be provided if needed)
• DBS registered on the update service

Eligibility

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for one
• Provide two professional references covering the last two years
