Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated English and Maths tutors to provide 1:1 support to students in the Wakefield area. We work with local authorities and councils to arrange these 1:1 tuitions for students currently accessing alternative provision.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering 1:1 tutoring in English and Maths.
• DBS checked and safeguarding training up-to-date (or available).
• QTS desired but not essential.

Job Title: English & Maths Tutor (1:1 Support)

Location: Wakefield and surrounding areas

Hours: 5-20 hours a week. To be held between Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm

Pay Rate: GBP20 - GBP30 per hour

Students: KS2-KS3 Students, working below ARE

• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS (desired but not essential) or previous experience working with students on a 1:1 basis
• Proven track record of improving student performance
• Team Teach qualification (highly desirable, but not required)
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (issued within the last year is desirable; training can be provided if needed)
• DBS registered on the update service

To be Eligible for this Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for one
• Provide two professional references covering the last two years
