Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident Maths Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 support to a student in Wigan. Location: Wigan. Hours: 5-15 hours per week. Start Date: September 2026. Ongoing.

The role focuses on making Maths approachable, breaking down concepts, and adapting sessions to the learner's current level, with duties including assessment, planning, monitoring progress and reporting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching or tutoring Maths.
• Strong subject knowledge.
• Experience supporting secondary-age learners desirable.
• Ability to adapt explanations to individual needs.
• Excellent communication skills.
• QTS, PGCE or relevant teaching/tutoring experience desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Two professional references.
