Job summary

Prospero Teaching are recruiting Maths Tutors in St Helens to provide tailored 1:1 educational support for children and young people across the area. You will plan engaging sessions around individual ability to help learners make measurable progress.

This role suits an experienced Maths tutor or teacher who enjoys working closely with individual learners. Start date September 2026; hours range from 5–15 per week, with ongoing opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong Maths subject knowledge.
• Experience teaching or tutoring Maths.
• GCSE or Functional Skills maths experience desirable.
• Previous 1:1 experience advantageous.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Right to Work in the UK, DBS update service preferred; two professional references required.

Learners may have gaps in their education or require additional support with their Maths. You'll have the opportunity to plan engaging sessions around their individual ability and help them make measurable progress.

This role would suit an experienced Maths teacher, tutor or education professional who enjoys working closely with individual learners.

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• Strong Maths subject knowledge
• Experience teaching or tutoring Maths

To be eligible for this role, you must:
