Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEND Maths Tutor to provide dedicated 1:1 tuition to a learner in Wrexham. You will combine strong maths knowledge with an understanding of SEND to tailor sessions and address gaps, building confidence and engagement in maths.

Hours range from 5 to 15 per week, starting September 2026, with ongoing engagement. Eligible candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK, an enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply), and two professional references; QTS/PGCE is desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong maths subject knowledge.
• Experience tutoring GCSE Maths.
• Experience with SEND learners (SEMH/Autism/ADHD).
• Patient, creative and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

Prospero Teaching are searching for an experienced Maths Tutor with SEND experience to support a learner in Wrexham!

The Opportunity

We are looking for a patient and adaptable SEND Maths Tutor to provide individualised 1:1 tuition to a young person requiring additional educational support.

The successful tutor will use their Maths expertise alongside their understanding of SEND to create engaging and accessible sessions.

You'll work at the learner's pace, helping them address gaps in their Maths knowledge whilst developing confidence and positive attitudes towards education.

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• Strong Maths subject knowledge
• GCSE Maths teaching or tutoring experience
• Previous experience working with SEND learners
• Experience supporting SEMH, Autism, ADHD or other additional needs
• QTS, PGCE or equivalent desirable
• Patient, creative and adaptable approach
