Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking qualified GCSE Maths tutors to support learners in Wigan with flexible 1:1 sessions. This part-time role focuses on individual needs, exam preparation and building confidence.

Hours range from 5 to 15 per week, start September 2026, location Wigan, Greater Manchester. To apply, you must have Right to Work in the UK and be prepared to complete an enhanced DBS check, with references available.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring GCSE Maths.
• Strong knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum.
• QTS, PGCE or equivalent desirable.
• Previous 1:1 tutoring experience is advantageous.
• Ability to adapt lessons to individual learning needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 GCSE Maths tuition to learners.

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting experienced GCSE Maths Tutors to support learners across Wigan!

The Opportunity

Are you a qualified Maths teacher or experienced tutor looking for flexible 1:1 work?

We are looking for enthusiastic GCSE Maths Tutors to provide personalised tuition to secondary-aged learners who require additional support with their education.

You will work closely with individual students, identifying gaps in their knowledge and adapting your sessions to help them improve their mathematical understanding, confidence and exam preparation.

Position Details:

• Location: Wigan

• Hours: 5-15 hours per week

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• Experience teaching or tutoring GCSE Maths
• Strong knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum
