Job summary

Smart Teachers are recruiting a Maths Academic Mentor to join an Alternative Provision in Ealing. You will support pupils across KS3 and KS4 in Mathematics, delivering small group and one-to-one interventions and helping build confidence.

The role involves working alongside teaching staff, monitoring progress and encouraging independent study skills to improve attainment and attitudes toward Maths.

Qualifications

• Graduate with strong Mathematics background.
• Experience supporting pupils in an educational setting is desirable.
• Good communication and motivational skills to engage students.

Responsibilities

Position: Maths Academic Mentor

Location: Ealing, West London

Are you passionate about supporting students to achieve their full potential in Mathematics?

Smart Teachers are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Academic Mentor to join a supportive Alternative Provision in Ealing.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience working with secondary-aged pupils and is confident supporting students with their learning, particularly across Maths and numeracy.

You will work alongside teaching staff to support pupils in the classroom, help them stay engaged with their learning and provide encouragement and guidance throughout the school day.

As a Maths Academic Mentor, you will work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing targeted support to help improve confidence, understanding, and attainment in Mathematics. You will support pupils through small group interventions, one-to-one sessions, and in-class support alongside the Maths department.

The Role:

• Supporting students with their Maths learning across KS3 and KS4
• Delivering small group and one-to-one intervention sessions
• Helping students build confidence and develop positive attitudes towards Mathematics
• Working alongside teachers to identify areas for improvement and provide additional support
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to support learning
• Encouraging students to develop effective study habits and independent learning skills

The Ideal Candidate:

• A graduate with a strong academic background in Mathematics or a related subject (desirable)
• Previous experience supporting young people within an educational setting
• A confident communicator with the ability to motivate and engage students
• Passionate about education and supporting student development
• Considering a future career in teaching (ideal preparation for teacher training)
