Job summary

Step Into Teaching is partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Scarborough to recruit graduates for Graduate Academic Mentor roles starting September 2026. You will support Maths or English students, work with teachers, and gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive environment.

This full-time, term-time position runs Monday to Friday with £500–£530 per week, September 2026 to July 2027, and provides preparation for PGCE, Schools Direct, or teacher training pathways.

Qualifications

• A Maths, English, or related degree with a 2:2 or above.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Interest in teaching as a career.

The Role

As a Graduate Academic Mentor, you will support students across the school through:

• Helping students build confidence and engagement in Maths or English
• Supporting pupils with varying learning needs and abilities

You will become an integral part of the school community while developing the skills and experience needed for a future career in education.
