Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead midwife responsibilities include ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff in line with Health and Safety Policy and clinical governance; act as lead midwife in absence of Clinical Midwifery Manager; manage staff recruitment, induction, performance reviews and regular meetings.
• Promote safeguarding and well-being of children and young people; monitor staffing to minimize clinical risk; ensure care pathways are developed and implemented; advocate for evidence-based, woman-centered care with continuity of care.
• Support education and lifelong learning for midwives; participate in risk assessments, incident reporting, and maintaining records per NMC standards and Trust policy; participate in clinical audits and research as required.
