Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced midwife to provide leadership across community maternity services. You will oversee midwives and support staff, promoting safe, compassionate, evidence-based care and enabling teams to deliver high-quality services.

The role includes direct line management, staff development, and collaboration with maternity colleagues to optimise staffing and care pathways.

Qualifications

• Registered midwife with ongoing practice and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience in community midwifery and homebirth settings is desirable.
• Experience in leadership, management and staff development.

Responsabilités

• Provide clinical, professional, educational and managerial leadership to midwives and support staff in the community.
• Undertake direct line management and staff development, promoting professional skills.
• Lead staffing and skill-mix reviews to ensure safe, compassionate maternity care.
• Promote safe, evidence-based care and partnership working across maternity services.
• Contribute to on-call rota and escalation pathways for homebirth services.
• Identify and manage risks, investigations and learning from events.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality improvement and learning.
