Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Midwife to lead delivery suite care and collaborate with obstetricians and midwives to deliver the Better Births Continuity of Carer vision. The role offers opportunities for leadership development and career progression.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality midwifery care, drive standards of care, and actively participate in staff development and training to enhance patient safety and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with valid registration and current practicing status.
• Degree in Midwifery from an approved program.
• NMC recognised Mentorship qualification or equivalent.
• Desirable: Working towards a Master's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a high standard of midwifery care is delivered based on assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Set, monitor and maintain standards of care to improve patient experience and outcomes.
• Proactively manage risk and patient safety, complying with health and safety policies.
• Communicate relevant information to the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care.
• Staff management and education and training of junior staff.
