Job Description and Person Specification

If you love digital, are obsessed with great user experiences and know how to turn data into action, this brand-new role in our Marketing and Communications team could be for you.

With real scope to make an impact, you’ll help shape our approach to web and digital, bringing fresh ideas and identifying opportunities to make our digital experience smarter, simpler and more effective.

This is much more than keeping web pages up to date. You’ll be responsible for making sure our website is accurate, accessible, engaging and effective – helping prospective students find the right course, take their next step and choose North Devon College.

You’ll manage and develop website content, user journeys, SEO and digital performance, using GA4 and other tools to understand what’s working, what isn’t and where we can make things better. One day you might be optimising a key course journey; the next, building a campaign landing page, improving SEO, analysing performance or briefing our external web developers.

We’re looking for someone who combines strong digital know-how with curiosity and initiative. You’ll be confident working with a CMS, understand SEO, accessibility and UX, and be comfortable turning analytics and user behaviour into practical improvements. You’ll also keep an eye on what’s next – from AI and emerging technology to changing digital behaviours – and spot opportunities that could make our activity smarter and more effective.

Just as importantly, you’ll take ownership. You’ll manage competing priorities, work confidently with colleagues and suppliers, challenge where something could work better and make sound day-to-day decisions based on our recruitment, marketing and communications objectives.

In return? High standards, real autonomy and the opportunity to make a true impact. You’ll join a friendly, ambitious Marketing and Communications team at an exciting time for North Devon College, with the freedom to bring ideas forward and help shape how we develop our digital presence.

You’ll also benefit from a generous holiday allowance, enhanced pension contributions and a wide range of additional employee benefits.

This is a fully office-based role at our Barnstaple campus.
