Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced maritime safety engineer to lead assurance across surface ships, submarines and naval systems. You will shape technical strategies, integrate evidence and advise clients through procurement, acceptance and in-service support.

The role covers leading safety cases, risk assessments and ALARP demonstrations, coordinating with naval authorities, and developing data-led safety approaches while balancing schedule, cost and quality.

Qualifications

• Substantial defence maritime safety experience and capability.
• Proven ability to lead safety cases and complex safety work packages.
• Strong systems engineering knowledge and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead maritime safety work packages across ships and platforms.
• Develop Safety and Environmental Cases and risk assessments.
• Advise on regulatory compliance and assurance activities.
• Shape evidence-based safety arguments at platform level.
• Provide direction on safety interfaces and maintenance changes.
• Lead or support Defence Maritime Regulations assurance.
