We are seeking an experienced maritime safety engineer to lead safety assurance across naval platforms and systems, shaping technical strategies and advising clients through procurement, acceptance and in-service support.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience delivering safety engineering or safety assurance in defence maritime environments.
• Strong knowledge of surface ships, submarines and naval systems.
• Experience leading safety cases, risk assessments and ALARP demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead maritime safety work packages for surface ships, submarines, naval systems, platform integration and in-service change.
• Develop Safety and Environmental Cases, Safety Case Reports and risk assessments.
• Shape Evidence to form ship- or submarine-level safety cases.
• Provide direction on safety interfaces, configuration management and maintenance.
• Advise Delivery Teams and authorities on regulatory compliance.
• Lead or support Defence Maritime Regulations assurance and platform certification.
• Review technical outputs and keep safety information current.
• Identify future work by understanding client needs and developing proposals.
