Job summary

Fortress Recruit Ltd is supporting a maritime defence manufacturer in Dorset to appoint a Head of Business Development. You will lead and develop the BD team, own targets, and drive strategic opportunities from qualification through to contract award.

You will coordinate engineering, programme and bid teams to win major opportunities, expand existing accounts, and build relationships with Defence Primes and international partners.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and developing a Business Development or commercial team.
• Strong track record of growing revenue and securing contracts.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, commercial, programme, bid).
• International sales experience and ability to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Business Development team and own BD targets, sales processes, forecasting and performance.
• Identify, qualify and prioritise strategic opportunities and lead major capture campaigns.
• Develop capture strategies and coordinate multidisciplinary internal teams.
• Develop long-term customer relationships with Defence Primes, shipyards and international partners.
• Support expansion into new markets and applications, including North America.
