Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking an Engineer, Field Service to be based in the UK. The role involves independently performing field service activities including overhaul, repair and troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical equipment, with frequent travel (up to 200 days/year).

Applicants should hold a BSc in Engineering or equivalent, have strong English skills, and adhere to safety instructions. Travel to customer sites and offshore locations is required, with responsibilities including reporting,

Qualifications

• Independently execute Field Service activities such as overhaul, repair and basic troubleshooting.
• Be aware of the local work instructions for overhauling components and ensure they are understood and adhered to.
• Ensure that all activities on-site are carried out in accordance with the site safety rules and in compliance with the Company's Health and Safety obligations.
• Liaise with On-Site Team Leader/Service Coordinator to provide progress status of the assigned work and ensure deadlines are met.
• Liaise with customers on site handling enquiries and technical queries.

Responsibilities

• Actively advise and promote available products and solutions to customers.
• Submit accurate and high-quality service work reports within 48 hours of returning home from assigned jobs.
• Travel readiness to UK, abroad and offshore (foreseen up to 200 days/year).
• Carry out ad-hoc duties as required and contribute to overall customer satisfaction.
• Maintain timesheets and expense sheets weekly.
