Job summary

Wärtsilä in the United Kingdom is seeking an In-Situ Service Coordinator to oversee on-site service activities for complex components in the maritime sector. Based from Glasgow, Aberdeen or Fareham, you will coordinate, plan and lead field service work with engineers, suppliers and customers to ensure safe, efficient project execution.

Qualifications

• Vocational qualification or technical degree, or equivalent experience in a technical/industrial environment.
• Experience in service coordination, project coordination or similar roles is an advantage.
• Good understanding of maintenance, repair or field service activities in a technical setting.
• Strong planning, organisation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate international in-situ service assignments from customer request through execution and project closure.
• Plan and allocate field service engineers, specialists and subcontractors based on project needs.
• Serve as primary contact for customers, ship owners, shipyards, agents and internal stakeholders.
• Support preparation of service projects, including scheduling, documentation and logistics.
• Coordinate spare parts, tools, measuring equipment and materials for global service activities.
• Monitor progress and ensure clear communication among customers, field teams, workshops and admin.
• Create purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely project execution.
• Support project performance monitoring, including KPIs like utilisation and lead times.
• Identify risks and resolve issues to keep projects on track.
• Ensure compliance with Wärtsilä safety requirements and ISO processes.
