Job summary

Wärtsilä UK seeks an In-Situ Service Coordinator to plan and lead on-site service activities for marine components. You will coordinate engineers, subcontractors and suppliers, while ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery across international assignments.

Based at Glasgow or Aberdeen, you will work with customers, shipyards and internal teams to maintain project schedules and comply with Wärtsilä standards, delivering reliable service and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A vocational qualification, technical degree or equivalent experience within an in-situ technical, industrial or maritime environment.
• Experience in service coordination, technical support, project coordination or a similar role is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of maintenance, repair or field service activities within a technical environment.
• Ability to understand technical scopes and convert customer requirements into practical service planning; strong organisational and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate international in-situ service assignments from customer request through execution and project closure.
• Plan and allocate field service engineers, specialists and subcontractors according to project requirements and resource availability.
• Act as a primary point of contact for customers, ship owners, shipyards, agents and internal stakeholders.
• Support the preparation of service projects, including scheduling, documentation and logistics arrangements.
• Coordinate the availability and delivery of spare parts, tools, measuring equipment and materials for global service activities.
• Monitor project progress and ensure effective communication between customers, field service teams, workshops and administration.
• Create purchase orders and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely project execution.
• Support project performance monitoring, including KPIs such as utilisation, work in progress, lead times and customer satisfaction.
• Assist in identifying risks, resolving operational issues and ensuring smooth project execution.
• Ensure compliance with Wärtsilä safety requirements, quality standards and ISO processes.
