Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking a Service Engineer to install, commission, fault find and repair instrumentation, PLC control and automation systems for the marine industry. The role is field-based with assignments across the UK and occasional international travel.

The ideal candidate is an adaptable electrical/electronic engineer willing to stay away for 1–2 weeks per project, with strong hands-on skills and a practical understanding of PLC controls.

Qualifications

• Practical hands-on engineer with field service experience.
• Willing to travel and stay away for 10–14 days at a time.
• Experience with instrumentation and PLC control systems is advantageous.
• Marine industry exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, fault find and repair instrumentation, PLC control and automation systems.
• Split between 80% electrical/electronic installation and refit projects and 20% reactive fault finding and repair.
• Travel across the UK for projects, with periodic international trips.
