Job summary

Allstaff Manufacturing Division seeks a Manufacturing Manager for a maternity cover role based in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire. The position is full-time, on-site, 36 hours/week, with a car allowance and a performance bonus on FTC completion.

The successful candidate will lead day-to-day factory operations—from materials to distribution—ensuring safety, quality, and timely customer deliveries while driving continuous improvement in a hands-on leadership capacity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 36 months (3 years) of relevant experience in manufacturing or factory management.
• Proven experience managing employees and day-to-day operations.
• Experience managing production schedules, quality and delivery performance.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety responsibilities.
• Ability to make decisions independently and take ownership of operational performance.
• Good communication, leadership and people-management skills.
• Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing chemical handling, COSHH controls or relevant environmental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Take full day-to-day responsibility for the operation and performance of the factory.
• Plan, organise and control production activities to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules.
• Ensure production targets, productivity levels and operational KPIs are achieved.
• Monitor workflow, capacity and resource allocation to maximise efficiency.
• Identify and resolve production issues, bottlenecks and operational delays.
• Ensure customer orders are completed to the required specification and within agreed timescales.
• Manage, lead and motivate the factory workforce.
• Organise staffing levels, work allocation, attendance and holiday cover.
• Set clear expectations and monitor employee performance.
• Address performance, conduct and operational issues appropriately.
• Promote a positive working environment, teamwork and accountability.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture across the workforce.
• Maintain compliance with applicable health and safety, environmental and workplace requirements.
