Job summary

McLaren Automotive in Woking seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development of assembly concepts for new models, guiding them from concept through prototype to series production. You will validate designs virtually, transition to physical validation, and drive process sequencing and traceability while working with cross-functional teams across UK facilities.

The role demands expertise in PFMEA/DFMEA, line balancing, and HPC data management; travel to off-site facilities in the UK/Europe

Qualifications

  • A degree in mechanical / automotive engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience implementing safe working practices and a strong work ethic.
  • Understanding of low volume, high value vehicle production and brand requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop vehicle assembly concepts from initial concept to series production.
  • Virtual environment validation and transition to physical validation & delivery.
  • Perform process sequencing, documentation and product traceability workflows.
  • Lead line balancing and time/motion studies to optimise HPC data and plant efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations on DFMEA/DFMEA tasks and layout changes.
