Job summary

McLaren Automotive in the United Kingdom is recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineering role focused on Virtual Build for new models. You will own the Virtual Build process, perform feasibility analyses, and lead cross-functional reviews to ensure timely delivery across multiple projects.

You will interface with design and engineering teams, manage build timing, and drive improvements to tooling validation, BOM reviews, and PLM upgrades, with UK travel as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical or automotive engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3D CAD systems essential (CATIA V5/V6, VPM/3DX desirable).

Responsibilities

• Own and continually improve the Virtual Build process & timing plans.
• Carry out fitment studies for vehicle components.
• Validate tooling access to fasteners based on build level.
• Influence design package to solve Virtual Build items.
• Lead Virtual Build events with key stakeholders.
• Review vehicle BOMs prior to Virtual Build events.
• Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering to allocate build stations.
• Build digital vehicle assemblies for internal use & supplier engagement.
• Lead PLM system upgrade activities for the Manufacturing Engineering team.
