Job summary

McLaren Automotive, based at the McLaren Technology Centre in the UK, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to define and deliver advanced assembly manufacturing systems for a low-volume, high-value powertrain facility.

You will provide technical leadership across manufacturing engineering, drive Lean and Industry 4.0 initiatives, and ensure safety, quality, and cost targets through concept to ramp-up with global supplier collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Advanced qualifications (e.g., MSc, MBA, Six Sigma Black Belt) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end manufacturing system architecture, including process design and automation strategy.
• Lead deployment of advanced Lean Production Systems and digital integration (MES, digital twins, Industry 4.0).
• Drive design-for-manufacture and design-for-assembly at programme level.
• Lead manufacturing engineering delivery through concept, industrialisation, installation, commissioning, and ramp-up.
• Provide technical leadership and governance across process, tooling, and automation.
• Ensure safety, quality, and cost targets across the full product lifecycle.
