Job summary

McLaren Racing in the United Kingdom seeks a Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer to transform complex designs into robust, manufacturable components for on-track performance. You will rotate between design office and machine shop, delivering end-to-end manufacturing solutions at pace.

During build season you’ll influence design for manufacture decisions upstream, govern the design function and support the manufacture of a new race car, helping with components, wind tunnel parts, pit equipment and

Qualifications

Experience in design for manufacture and production routings.
Experience offline programming and multi-axis machining.
Knowledge of tool management and MRP systems.
Experience solving quality issues using structured problem solving tools (8D, 5 Why, fishbone).
NVQ4/5 or HNC/HND or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Embed design for manufacture in reviews, support material selection and early procurement decisions.
Produce manufacturing solutions including stage models, drawings, routings and tooling selections.
Design tooling, fixturing and gauging to improve reliability and enable lights-out machining.
Create CNC programmes and setup sheets with quality emphasis and process optimisation.
Collaborate with Process Engineers and Machinists to resolve quality concerns and drive continuous improvement.
