Job summary

A leading defence and aerospace company based in Bolton is seeking a Manufacturing Controller for a 12-month contract. The role involves stock control, loading manufacturing cells, and maintaining computer records. Candidates should have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, and relevant training, including a fork lift truck license. This position offers a competitive rate of £24.78 per hour inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Experience in a stores environment or manufacturing control.
• Attention to detail is crucial.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Training in manual handling is beneficial.
• Lifting & Slinging training, including overhead cranes, is advantageous.
• Knowledge of electronic static discharge (ESD) protocols is required.
• Competence in using PC applications, particularly Excel, is expected.
• A valid fork lift truck license is necessary.
• Understanding of Kanban and 2 bin systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with an Enterprise Planning System like SAP is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage stock control/storekeeping, including shelf life control.
• Load manufacturing cells with jobs according to planned lead and cycle times.
• Perform packing using hand tools.
• Handle receiving and issuing of tooling.
• Update and maintain accurate computer records.
• Conduct kitting activity.
• Load and unload lorries as required.

As the Manufacturing Controller, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Stock control/storekeeping including shelf life control
• Loading the manufacturing cells with the requisite jobs in accordance with planned lead and cycle times, in order to comply with manufacturing programmes and delivery schedules
• Packing including the use of hand tools
• Receiving and issuing of tooling
• Updating computer records
• Kitting activity
• Loading and unloading of Lorries

Your skillset may include:

• Experience in a stores environment or manufacturing control
