Job summary

MRJ Recruitment Limited is assisting a leading eCommerce business in Manchester to recruit a Modern Workplace Engineering Team Leader. You will build and lead a team responsible for designing, engineering and improving technologies used by colleagues across the UK and Europe.

You will drive the transition to cloud-native, Entra-joined endpoint management, champion automation with PowerShell and Power Automate, and shape the technical direction of modern workplace services.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with Windows 11, Conditional Access, endpoint provisioning and modern device management.
• Hands-on scripting and automation experience, particularly PowerShell.
• Experience leading, mentoring or coordinating technical engineers.
• Strong understanding of endpoint security, compliance and vulnerability management.
• Experience delivering technology improvements across complex or multi-site environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire: Manage, mentor and develop a team of Modern Workplace Engineers, creating a culture of innovation, collaboration and technical excellence.
• Drive modernisation: Lead the transition from traditional hybrid-joined environments towards cloud-native, Entra-joined endpoint management.
• Champion automation: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Power Automate and emerging AI technologies.
• Own workplace engineering: Provide technical leadership across Intune, Autopilot, Microsoft 365, endpoint security and device management.
• Improve digital experiences: Create simpler, faster and more reliable technology experiences for colleagues across the business.
• Deliver meaningful change: Lead engineering improvements and technology projects from initial design through to deployment and adoption.
• Build secure foundations: Establish consistent endpoint standards across Windows, macOS and mobile devices.
• Challenge the status quo: Bring fresh thinking to existing processes, using data, automation and modern engineering practices to deliver measurable improvements.
