Job description

A growing FMCG business is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to take ownership of group reporting, financial control, and cash management activities across UK and international operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to join a dynamic organisation with a strong market presence and ambitious growth plans.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and controls. This position will oversee the management accounts process, lead a small finance team, and support operational and commercial decision-making.

Main Responsibilities
  • Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Ensure robust financial controls are in place and documented across the business.
  • Lead on compliance for statutory reporting, VAT, PAYE, and audit preparation (UK and overseas).
  • Manage cashflow forecasting, treasury operations, and banking relationships.
  • Oversee the purchase ledger and ensure supplier payments are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage, support and develop junior finance staff, fostering continuous improvement and professional growth.
About You
  • Part or Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Strong systems knowledge with hands‑on ERP experience.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members.
