Job summary

Our client is seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician to join the Process Engineering team on a site-based role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will oversee maintenance activities, coordinate preventative and reactive work, and support continuous improvement including 6S across production and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities include planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, keeping CMMS records, and ensuring health, safety, and environmental procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems / time predictive management.
• Good understanding of HSE and quality standards.
• Knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and support production teams in restoring operations.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing, eager and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join their Process Engineering team.

What You Will Do

As a Maintenance Technician, you will oversee all maintenance activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a fully site-based role, working closely with production, engineering and maintenance teams. You will ensure equipment reliability, safety and operational efficiency. You will co-ordinate preventative and reactive maintenance, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement including project work and 6S across production and warehouse operations.

How You Will Do It

• Perform planned preventative maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedules
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults on production equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and support production teams in restoring operations.
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and plant equipment to identify potential issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Work closely with production personnel to identify and resolve equipment performance issues.
• Manage and maintain tools, spare parts, and maintenance consumables.
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Support contractors and external service providers during maintenance projects.
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work procedures where applicable

What We Are Looking For

Required

• 5+ years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills

Beneficial

• Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)
• Experience with automated or assembly line equipment
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tool
• Knowledge of Cryogenic & F-Gas

What Our Client Offers

• Working Hours: Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 4:00pm and Friday from 7:30am to 1:30pm.
