Job summary

Interaction Recruitment are assisting an established manufacturing business in Northampton to recruit a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Bias). You will carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding, maintenance and repairs on conveyors, motors and gearboxes to maximise plant uptime.

The role offers a 45-hour basic week with overtime paid at 1.5x, along with a company pension, life assurance, 24 days annual leave and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience within a maintenance engineering role.
• Background in manufacturing, production, process, FMCG or similar environments.
• Qualified in mechanical/electrical maintenance (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding on conveyors, motors and gearboxes.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Diagnose and repair production machinery breakdowns.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and health & safety procedures.

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire)

Salary: £44,000-£46,000 (OTE £50,000-£55,000)

Hours: Monday to Friday 07.30-17.30, (45 hours per week | 37.5 hours basic rate + 7.5 contracted overtime hours paid at 1.5x rate per week)

Working Hours & Flexibility

About You

• Minimum 3 years' experience within a maintenance engineering role
• Background within manufacturing, production, process, food, packaging, recycling, FMCG, or similar environments
• Relevant engineering qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent/time served
• Mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled maintenance experience
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
