Job summary

P&S Personnel Rail is seeking an enthusiastic Maintenance Technician to join a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Gorleston-on-Sea. You will oversee all maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency on site, while collaborating with production and engineering teams.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, maintain CMMS records, and support continuous improvement projects, including 6S across production and warehouse areas.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems / time predictive management.
• Good understanding of HSE and quality standards.
• Knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance activities in accordance with schedules.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults on production equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and support production teams in restoring operations.
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and plant equipment to identify potential issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Work closely with production personnel to identify and resolve equipment performance issues.
• Manage and maintain tools, spare parts, and maintenance consumables.
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Support contractors and external service providers during maintenance projects.
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work procedures where applicable

What You Will Do

As a Maintenance Technician, you will oversee all maintenance activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a fully site-based role, working closely with production, engineering and maintenance teams. You will ensure equipment reliability, safety and operational efficiency. You will co-ordinate preventative and reactive maintenance, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement including project work and 6S across production and warehouse operations.

How You Will Do It
