Job summary

Madoc Recruitment is recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician at a global manufacturing client based in the UK. You will be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance across the site, diagnosing faults and minimising downtime.

You will join a settled engineering team, work 4 on 4 off shift (2 days / 2 nights), with a salary up to £55,000 including shift allowance, plus pension, private medical insurance and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship completed.
• Manufacturing environment experience required.
• Familiar with pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
• Strong fault-finding and safe working procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Be the first point of contact when breakdowns occur and diagnose faults to minimise downtime.
• Identify and support initiatives to reduce waste and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with maintenance team to coordinate repairs and workload planning with the Engineering Team Manager.

Our client, a global manufacturer who is renowned for its well-known household brands, is currently on the look-out for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their team. We are looking for someone who is confident in taking ownership of their work, demonstrating accountability and responsibility on site. A proactive approach, positive attitude, and the ability to work well within a team are essential for success in this role.

Job details:

• Ensure that preventative and reactive maintenance duties are carried out across the site.
• Be the first point of contact when breakdowns occur. Diagnose and resolve issues promptly to minimise downtime.
• Identify and support initiatives to reduce waste and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other maintenance team members to co-ordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
• Liaise with the Engineering Team Manager for workload planning and technical support.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Engineering skills obtained by a time served apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3)
• Previous experience within a Manufacturing environment (Essential).
• Familiar with pneumatically and hydraulically controlled systems.
• Strong fault-finding capabilities.
• PLC fault-finding experience (desirable).
• Familiar with packaging lines, drives, conveyors, rotating machinery, pumping equipment and valves.
• Competent in safe working procedures.
