Job summary

Alloy Enterprises is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to oversee electrical, automation and control systems across our manufacturing operations near Great Yarmouth. This on-site role covers 37.5 hours per week, with a Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:00pm and Friday 7:30am–1:30pm schedule, focusing on keeping automated systems reliable and safe in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems.
• Good understanding of HSE and quality standards.
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance activities according to schedules.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults on production equipment.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and support production teams to restore operations.
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and plant equipment to identify issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS.
• Support continuous improvement to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Collaborate with production to resolve equipment performance issues.
• Manage tools, spare parts and maintenance consumables.
• Participate in root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Support contractors and external service providers during maintenance projects.
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work procedures where applicable.

What You Will Do

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electrical, automation, and control systems across our manufacturing operations. Working closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams, you will help ensure equipment reliability, minimise downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role located just outside Great Yarmouth, focused on keeping automated systems and machinery operating safely and efficiently within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. How You Will Do It

• Work closely with production personnel to identify and resolve equipment performance issues.
• Manage and maintain tools, spare parts, and maintenance consumables.
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Support contractors and external service providers during maintenance projects.
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work procedures where applicable

What We Are Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
• Good understanding of HSE and quality standards
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure

Beneficial:

• Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)
• Experience with automated or assembly line equipment
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tool
• Knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations
