Job summary

WPS in Winchester is recruiting a Supervisor to oversee responsive maintenance works, plan and coordinate repairs, and lead a team of multi-trade operatives to meet service targets.

The role focuses on efficient delivery, resource management, and delivering high standards of customer service within a social housing context. A strong safety culture and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

• SSSTS certification is essential.
• Experience supervising maintenance programmes, ideally in social housing.
• Strong understanding of multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, general building).
• Proven ability to manage workloads, resources and performance.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, and monitor daily repair and maintenance activities.
• Lead and support a team of multi-trade operatives.
• Allocate workloads and manage priorities.
• Carry out site inspections and quality checks.
• Monitor progress against KPIs and address risks.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Manage customer concerns through to resolution.
• Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal departments.
• Support workforce planning and continuous improvement.
