Job summary

TXM Recruit seeks a Maintenance Operative for an in-house supermarket maintenance team on a 12-week temp-to-perm scheme in Shepton Mallet. You will work autonomously across stores, handling planned maintenance and reactive tasks.

Role based 6am–3pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional 1-in-4 weekend shifts and overtime at 1.5x. Benefits include a company van, uniform, and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• General reactive maintenance in store from toilets, shop floor and communal areas.
• Basic repairs including changing lightbulbs, taps, toilet seats, doors, shelves.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple stores.
• Perform minor carpentry, plastering, painting and plumbing repairs as needed.
• Support Legionella testing, fire alarm testing and sprinkler checks with training provided.

Job description

Maintenance Operative - TXM Recruit are currently looking for a maintenance operative to work for an inhouse supermarket maintenance team on a 12-week temp to perm scheme. This role will be based with autonomous working completing planned maintenance across a few stores.

Location - Shepton Mallet

Salary -£29,328.86/yr or £14.01/ph

Hours- 6am to 3pm - Monday to Friday (Can be flexed slightly for childcare etc)

Weekends- 1-in-4 weekend shift (1.25x rate for Sunday)

Overtime -Overtime is there at 1.5x

As a Maintenance Operative your duties will be but not limited to

• General reactive maintenance in store from toilets, shop floor and communal areas.
• This may include changing lightbulbs, replacing taps or toilet seats hanging doors or fixing shelves.
• Patch plaster. rendering, painting or minor carpentry and plumbing repairs.
• PPMs such as Legionella, Fire Alarm Testing, Sprinkler Testing (training provided).
• Building inspections including roof walks and building checks to exterior
• Cark Park checks - drain covers, trolley shelters, bollards
• There will be daily duties to ensure the tablet is updated, this may be reporting issues, H&S notes or sending emails. Technology will be used in the form of a PDA Tablet and Company provided Smartphone.
