Job summary

TXM Recruit is looking for a Maintenance Operative in Stoke-on-Trent. The role covers reactive maintenance across store areas, including toilets, shop floor, and communal spaces.

A driving licence is mandatory, and duties include light repairs and routine checks using a PDA tablet and a company smartphone. Evening/weekend shifts are possible with overtime rates; the contract is a 4-month FTC with potential extension.

Responsibilities

• General reactive maintenance in store from toilets, shop floor and communal areas.
• This may include changing lightbulbs, replacing taps or toilet seats hanging doors or fixing shelves. Patch plaster. rendering, painting or minor carpentry and plumbing repairs.
• PPMs such as Legionella, Fire Alarm Testing, Sprinkler Testing (training provided).
• Building inspections including roof walks and building checks.
• There will be daily duties to ensure the tablet is updated, this may be reporting issues, H&S notes or sending emails. Technology will be used in the form of a PDA Tablet and Company provided Smartphone.

Salary

£14.01/hour (£29,326 per annum basic salary).

Hours

6am to 3pm - Monday to Friday (Can be flexed for childcare etc)

Contract length

4-month FTC. Strong possibility of extension

Weekends

1-in-4 weekend shift (1.25x rate for Sunday)

Overtime

Overtime is there at 1.5x
