Job summary

Cygnet Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Willow House in Birmingham. You will deliver a comprehensive maintenance and repair service in a residential service for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health challenges.

You’ll work 40 hours a week, undertaking basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building tasks while maintaining equipment and ensuring safety practices. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experienced in a similar role or self-employed in recent years.
• Willing to travel and hold a full valid driving licence.
• Able to communicate at all levels and record detailed maintenance information.
• Skilled at DIY and general maintenance.
• Preferably experienced in electrical/plumbing/construction industry.
• Friendly, conscientious and an excellent team member with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service.
• Carry out tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work.
• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles.
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards.
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.

Cygnet Healthcare is looking for a Maintenance Operative to join our team at Willow House.

Willow House is a specialist residential service with nursing for adults with learning disabilities, complex needs and behaviours that may challenge.

You’ll be working 40 hours a week in a residential nursing service with service users with learning disabilities , autism and mental health challenges.

Your Day-to-Day…

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.

You are…

• Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years
• Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
