Job summary

Cygnet Ty Alarch is seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative to join the team at Ty Alarch, a six-bed community rehabilitation service for women.

The role involves a range of maintenance tasks, travel to other sites, on-call duties, and regular safety checks. Salary is £12.75 per hour for 16 hours per week. A DBS check is required. Applicants should have DIY and general maintenance skills and a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role or self-employed work in recent years.
• Full valid driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Ability to communicate at all levels and record maintenance information accurately.
• DIY and general maintenance skills, with electrical/plumbing/construction exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service.
• Carry out basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
• Maintain equipment, services and vehicles.
• Comply with safe working practices and report faults and hazards.
• Travel to other sites and be on call for emergency repairs outside normal hours.
• Weekly checks of fire alarm points, exits and related devices.

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join our team at Cygnet Ty Alarch.

Ty Alarch is a six bed community rehabilitation (level 1) service for women who have been able to progress through the hospital pathway at Cygnet St Teilo House.

We also accept referrals from other high dependency inpatient rehabilitation services as well as directly from the community.

This service is now open and accepting referrals.

Your Day-to-Day... You’ll be working 16 hours per week.

Salary: £12.75 per hour

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards
• Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.

You are...

• Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years
• Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
• Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
• Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
• Preferably experienced in the electrical/plumbing/construction industry
• Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.
