Job summary

Cygnet Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative/Assistant for Sheffield Day Service, delivering a safe, healthy environment for service users. Role involves maintenance, basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building tasks.

You will travel between sites, be on call at times, and ensure compliance with safety standards. DBS check is required for successful candidates.

Qualifications

• Experienced in a similar role or self-employed in recent years.
• Willing to travel and hold a full valid driving licence.
• Able to communicate at all levels and record detailed maintenance information.
• Skilled at DIY and general maintenance.
• Preferably experienced in electrical/plumbing/construction industries.
• Friendly, conscientious and a good team member.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service.
• Carry out tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
• Maintain equipment, services and vehicles.
• Comply with safe working practices and report faults or hazards.
• Travel to other sites and be on call for emergency repairs outside normal hours.
• Check fire alarm points weekly and inspect exits and emergency lights.

We are looking for a skilled MaintenanceOperative/Assistantwith a passion for making a difference to others.

You'll be working Full Time 40 Hours a Week (Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm) at Sheffield Day Service, helping provide a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care.

Sheffield Day Services support people with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, in addition to those with complex health needs, physical disabilities and autism.

We aim to enhance the quality of life of the individuals who attend the service. We focus on demonstrating outcomes and value through our activities.

Your Day-to-Day...

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards
• Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.

You are...

• Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years
• Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
• Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
• Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
• Preferably experienced in the electrical/plumbing/construction industry
• Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.
