Job summary

Hunter Selection is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a site in Shepton Mallet. The role offers a continental shift pattern with a salary in the 50,000–52,000 GBP range and benefits such as life assurance, employee discounts and an employee assistance programme.

The ideal candidate will hold a formal engineering qualification and have a background in manufacturing or production environments, with a focus on reducing downtime and improving machine reliability through preventative maintenance

Qualifications

• Maintenance engineering in manufacturing environments.
• Experience with root cause analysis and 5S.
• Track record of continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Execute preventative maintenance plans.
• Apply root cause analysis tools (e.g. RCA) and 5S.
• Support a culture of Continuous Improvement and problem solving.
• Record maintenance tasks in an electronic reporting system.
• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance.

Our client is a leading manufacturer that is dedicated to producing products that's quality is recognised as second to none. With a strong order book and due to growth into various export markets they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Respond to machine breakdowns with a view to minimising downtime and improving long term machine reliability


• Execution of the Lead/Senior Maintenance Engineer's plan to work preventatively in addition to reactively


• Use of appropriate root cause analysis tools & 5S


• Actively support a culture of Continuous Improvement, looking at ways to engineer out persistent problems


• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance


• Accurately record all maintenance tasks performed on an electronic reporting system

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Formal Engineering Qualification - C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship trained


• Continuous improvement knowledge


• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards


• Experience in Engineering, manufacturing or production environments
