Job summary

Hunter Selection is working with a leading manufacturer in Somerset to recruit a Maintenance Engineer for their site in Chard. The role offers a salary of £50,000–£52,500 with rotating days and nights and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will respond to machine breakdowns to minimise downtime, carry out preventative maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. A formal engineering qualification (level 3) and experience in manufacturing environments are required, with

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification at level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Execute preventative maintenance plans (planned and reactive).
• Use root cause analysis tools and 5S practices.
• Support continuous improvement and problem solving.
• Record all maintenance tasks on an electronic reporting system.

Our client is a leading manufacturer that is dedicated to producing products that's quality is recognised as second to none. With a strong order book and due to growth into various export markets they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities:

Respond to machine breakdowns with a view to minimising downtime and improving long term machine reliability

Execution of the Lead/Senior Maintenance Engineer's plan to work preventatively in addition to reactively

Use of appropriate root cause analysis tools & 5S

Actively support a culture of Continuous Improvement, looking at ways to engineer out persistent problems

Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance

Accurately record all maintenance tasks performed on an electronic reporting system

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Formal Engineering Qualification - C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship trained
Continuous improvement knowledge
Strong knowledge of good engineering standards
Experience in Engineering, manufacturing or production environments
