Job summary

Hunter Selection Limited is seeking a multi-skilled maintenance engineer to service and repair production machinery and site services at their Hoddesdon facility. The role covers hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings and drives, with a strong emphasis on both electrical and mechanical competencies.

You will follow PPM schedules, participate in continuous improvement, and fabricate or machine parts as needed. A solid engineering qualification and manufacturing experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified in engineering with NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 or higher.
• Must have worked in a manufacturing environment.
• Team player with a positive character.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance and repairs on production machinery, processing equipment, site services and utilities.
• Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, rollers, belts and drives.
• Follow PPM schedules and drive continuous improvement projects.
• Electrical work including PLC fault finding, repair and wiring of control panels, switches and sensors.
• Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding and manual machining to make parts and repairs.

Role & responsibilities of a maintenance engineer:

• Carry out reactive maintenance & repairs of all production machinery, industrial processing equipment, site services & utilities
• Dealing with hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, rollers, belts, drives
• Follow PPM schedules, continuous improvement projects
• Electrical - PLC fault finding, repair & wiring control panels, switches, sensors, contactors
• Mechanical - fabrication, fitting, welding, manual machining to make parts/repairs

Knowledge, skills & experience need to be a maintenance engineer:

• Ideally be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer
• Qualified - NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 or higher in engineering
• Must have worked in some form of manufacturing environment
• Team player and positive character
• Worked on hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drives
• Electrical biased skills - PLC fault finding, wiring / repairs control panels, sensors, switches
• Mechanical biased skills - fabrication, fitting, welding, machining - milling, turning, grinding, lathes
