Job summary

Hunter Selection is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a leading manufacturer in Clevedon, North Somerset. The role involves planned maintenance, safety checks and improvements to plant equipment within a food-packaging environment.

You will work Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work, earning £52,000–£53,700 and enjoying benefits including a pension, life cover and 25 days' holiday. Onsite canteen and company events are provided.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualification (C&G Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 / apprenticeship)
• Continuous improvement knowledge
• Experience in food, packaging, drink manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

• Planned maintenance inspections and parts review
• Carry out safety checks and improvements in projects and maintenance schedules
• Monitor plant conditions and repair machinery
• Generate and maintain SOPs and risk assessments
• Report on plant performance and non-conformances
• Work on valves & pumps
• Support production and continuous improvement projects

£52,000 - £53,700, Monday - Friday, 1 weekend in 4 with time off in the week

Overtime 1.5 Monday - Friday, Double time for weekend, Bank holiday double time + time in lieu,

Our client is a leading manufacturer that is dedicated to producing products that’s quality is recognised as second to none. With a strong order book and over £9mill of investment going into the factory & growth into various export markets they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities

• Planned Maintenance inspections, review parts used
• Recommend improvements in line with projects and maintenance schedules, carry out safety checks on range of equipment
• Monitor plant conditions, report defects, repair of machinery
• Generate and maintain compliance to SOP's, risk assessments
• Report on plant performance using systems, ensure action on non-conformance issues
• Working on a range of valves & Pumps
• Supporting production & continuous improvement projects

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Formal Engineering Qualification - C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship trained
• Continuous improvement knowledge
• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards
• Experience in food, packaging, drink, manufacturing environments
